Ra’anana, designated “Green City” by the World Health Organization in 2005, is the Pearl of the Sharon, a wonderfully modern destination in the southern Sharon Plain, with a mixed population from English, French, and Spanish speaking countries.  It’s famous for its industrial zone, which hosts countless high-tech companies such as Texas Instruments, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, NICE Systems, and SAP among many others.

The Ra’anana Industrial Area is worth seeing for its urban park – the largest of its kind in the Sharon region. It boasts beautifully manicured gardens with walking and cycling paths, plus a playground for the little ones, a lake, an amphitheatre, a Japanese garden, and several sports fields. There are also other attractions worth seeing, including a zoo, an art gallery, a shopping mall, and the Founders Museum, which tells the story of the town from its inception until 1936 when it achieved the local council status.

Noteworthy, although Ra’anana is a small town, it boasts – besides its urban park – about seventy more parks and gardens.
